This Holiday Old Fashioned is a delicious twist on a classic cocktail!

This weekend we are holding our annual holiday party and this Holiday Old Fashioned is on the menu!  It is pretty similar to a regular old fashioned but we added some triple sec and rosemary and used maple syrup for a little sweetness.  If you have large ice cubes those are awesome for old fashioneds but I like regular ice cubes because a little extra water melting into them is just fine by me!

We are making a BIG batch of this for the party this weekend but because it is a small but strong drink we will figure out how long it takes to pour the right amount from our drink dispenser and let our guests know.  Bourbon at the holidays just seems right so this drink is perfect for those chilly nights!

The rosemary hits your nose when you drink this and adds so much to the flavor!

Here are a few more cocktails to try:

The Best Healthy Margarita

Blood Orange Vanilla Mocktail

Ginger Bourbon Fizz

  1. Fantastic approach. Thanks! No maraschinos in the house but did have maraschino liquor. Just matched the triple sec.  To cut the sweet a bit more I hit a few more dashes of bitters and would highly recommend rye or a prohibition style bourbon like Old Forrester 1920 Prohibition Style. Happy Holidays!

  2. Oh. My. Gosh. This was a HUGE hit at our Christmas party this weekend (aka our Kelsey inspired Christmas party). It was incredible. We had a couple who are both bartenders and they loved the use of the triple sec!!
