GUYS GUYS GUYS!!!!!!!!! Huge. News. If you don’t follow me on social media then you might not know that I am going to be on Dr. Oz!!!!!! Okay I seriously want to do this whole post in caps and exclamations but I will try to contain myself. So my Sweet Potato Toast recipe has done it again and Dr. Oz wants me to make it on his show and talk all about it!! Matt and I are flying out to New York next week to shoot the segment and I am a huge ball of nervs and excitement. I can’t thank YOU enough for coming on this journey with me and can’t wait to see where this opportunity is going to take me! I have never been to New York so I am SO excited to explore the city and see some sights! If you have any recommendations of restaurants or must see’s, let me know in the comments!
For now I will tell you all about this yummy Rosemary Berry Bourbon Buzz!!! I wanted to make a cocktail with simple syrup so I used coconut sugar to make it. I also wanted it to taste like rosemary so I steeped some rosemary in the simple syrup! Then just a little bourbon, lemon juice and muddled raspberries later… the perfect fall cocktail! We made these when my sister was in town and had tons of fun recipe testing… I just love bourbon. These come just in time for the weekend so get mixing!!
coconut sugar rosemary simple syrup:
- 1 cup coconut sugar
- 1 cup water
- 2 sprigs of rosemary
- 1 ½ oz. bourbon
- 1 oz lemon juice
- 1 oz. coconut sugar rosemary simple syrup
- ¼ cup raspberries
- To make simple syrup, combine coconut sugar, water and rosemary into a small saucepan and cook on medium until sugar is dissolved. Turn off heat and let rosemary infuse for about 20-30 minutes, then remove rosemary and discard.
- To make the drink combine bourbon, lemon juice, 1 oz. simple syrup and raspberries. Muddle together with the bottom of a wooden spoon or a muddler.
- Fill a cup with ice and strain the drink over the ice. Garnish with rosemary and a lemon peel!
