Paleo Everything Bagel
Ingredients
Scale
Bagels:
- 1 1/4 cups almond flour
- 1/4 cup flaxmeal
- 1/4 cup + 1 tablespoon coconut flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon celtic sea salt
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 5 large eggs
- 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
Everything Topping:
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
- 1 tablespoon poppy seeds
- 2 teaspoons dried minced onion
- 1 teaspoon dried minced garlic
- 1/2 teaspoon coarse sea salt
Instructions
- Grease a donut mold with coconut oil. In a large bowl combine almond flour, flax meal, coconut flour, baking soda, garlic powder and salt. In a separate smaller bowl combine eggs and apple cider vinegar together and whisk for 30 seconds. Pour egg mixture into dry ingredients and whisk to combine. Place batter in a resealable plastic bag, snip off one corner, and pipe batter into prepared pan.
- In a small bowl combine everything topping ingredients. Sprinkle a little of the topping over the bagels. You will have extra topping so don’t use it all!
- Bake at 350° for 20 to 25 minutes, until a knife inserted into the center of a bagel comes out clean
- Let bagels cool for 1 hour. Slice and toast if you like and/or top with avocado, lemon pepper and salt!
We’re new to paleo, I’m a good cook and I enjoy experimenting with new things. My partner is super successful with it so far, she’s lost 8 pounds in 14 days. I’ve not been as fortunate, but I’ve had other health benefits. Anyhow, she’s missing the sandwich like stuff. would this be a good “everything bagel” to serve with the avocado dill tuna salad?
OH yes it would be!! Great idea! Mine has been more health benefits than weight loss as well, but I think it is a “slowly but surely” sort of thing. Let me know how those sandwiches go! Thanks for reading!
do you know the nutrition information/serving size for these? Would love to try the recipe
I didn’t calculate the nutrition but it makes about 8 bagels!
I just made these and I accidentally left them in the oven waaaaay too long and they are still delish! Currently slicing avocados to go on my bagels!! Thank you for this recipe!
Oh good!! Glad they still worked out!!
If I don’t have a donut pan, can I just pipe them into circles? Will that still work?
It probably won’t stay in that shape as the dough is pretty soft!!
Way too much baking soda!!! Try 1/4 tsp instead
Does these hold up in the freezer?
I haven’t frozen them but I am sure it would work out!
Made these today. They were super dry, non edible dry. Followed the recipe to a T as well. Was super bummed.
Oh no! So sorry it didn’t work out for you!
After making another recipe that was very similar to yours, I am thinking yours has too much coconut flour? The other recipe I made came out fantastic, but has much less coconut flour.
Is this keto friendly? And how many carbs are in one bagel?
I don’t know much about keto so I am not sure!
