Quick, easy and absolutely delicious dinner these Baked Mahi Mahi Tacos with Lime Crema is for sure going into the dinner rotation.

Living in Southern California there is amazing and delicious fish taco around every corner, it’s the go to meal anytime of day. It can be fried, baked, grilled, you name it and you can find a taco shop that sells exactly what you are craving. But what if you want to stay home and have the best fish tacos under your own roof made with a homemade margarita. That’s where this Mahi Mahi Tacos come in soooo handy.

If you can get your hands on some perfect avocados… those are a must.  Something about creamy avocado just completes a taco in my eyes.   You may have these ingredients on hand and can use any variation of them.  Different fish, seasonings and tortillas can all be used and still make this taco perfect.  You will love the creamy bite of the crema as it marries so well with the crispy fish.

Have no fear these Mahi Mahi tacos can be made in either the oven, air fryer and even the grill.

Oven– Coat the fish pieces and lay them out on a covered baking sheet, bake at 400 degrees for 12 minutes.  Make sure you leave room between each piece so they get cooked throughly.

Air Fryer– Coat the fish pieces and arrange in your air fryer bake at 400 degreed f0r 6-7 minutes, you can also toss half way through.

Grill– Coat the fish pieces, you can cook right ton the grates just make sure you oil your grates before you turn the grill on. You can also make a foil packet for the fish pieces to cook in.

Baked Mahi Mahi Tacos w/ Lime Crema

Ingredients

  • 3 fillets of Mahi Mahi
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 lime
  • pinch of salt
  • pepper
  • 1 cup panko bread crumbs
  • tortillas
  • 1/4 cup plain greek yogurt
  • avocado
  • shredded lettuce

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Cut Mahi Mahi into bite sized pieces and place in a bowl. Add the garlic powder, paprika, the juice of half a lime, salt and pepper. Let sit while the oven preheats.
  2. Pour bread crumbs onto a cookie sheet and toast in the oven until lightly browned. Keep and eye on them as they can burn quickly. Remove the breadcrumbs and let cool slightly. Take the mahi mahi and coat with breadcrumbs, pressing each piece into the crumbs to cover completely. Place fish on a cookie sheet fitted with parchment paper. Bake the fish for 12 minutes.
  3. For the lime crema, combine the greek yogurt with the juice of half a lime and some salt and pepper in a small bowl. Assemble tacos and top with crema!

Notes

  • These can be made in the air fryer at 400 degrees for 8 minutes!
