- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 stick plus 2 teaspoons unsalted butter, softened

- Filling:
- 6 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 1 1/2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice

Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Line cookie sheets with either parchment paper or a silicone baking mat. In a small bowl, stir together flour, baking soda, ginger, cinnamon and salt.
- Beat butter and sugar at medium speed for about 2 minutes. Beat in egg and molasses. Stir in dry ingredients until just combined.

These might be the tastiest cookies I have ever tasted. Be sure to make a double batch!!
These are just lovely! I have made the cookies and am very impressed at how they turned out. One question though, how did you get you cookies so smooth and flat?
